With a new sustainability journey underway, Port Marlborough wanted to ensure that their brand strategy and identity aligned with their ambitious business goals.
After several visits to Picton documenting the port, it’s people and environment we began the first phase of the identity project. Staying close with the client in several ‘campfire’ collaborative sessions meant we could work efficiently and really develop a visual identity for and by the people of Port Marlborough.
Crisp nautical cues and our ‘new wave’ logomark acknowledged the rich history of the port brand but deepened that story to feel more natural and inclusive. A traditional carrick bend knot now includes other symbolism of a water wake and an infinite combined strength.
A full design system has been developed to assist the internal team producing items. A heartfelt video capturing the new brand story, embraces their people and shares their point of view with the world.
