LUX is a free event that turns Wellington’s waterfront and laneways into a captivating celebration of light, art, technology, design and theatre.
This year’s festival moved from its usual ‘journey through the city’ to five clear precincts where artworks were curated by style of works and focused experiences for attendees. The precincts celebrated works for children, works by Māori contemporary artists and large-scale international interactive works – along with smaller intimate experiences in two of Wellington’s laneways. The works are accompanied by artist talks during the festival along with food and beverage hubs in amongst the precincts – expanding the art event into a winter entertainment experience for a wide range of audiences.
